Therapist (Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Counselor)

ClearView Communities is a medium-sized private residential treatment facility in Frederick, MD that serves young adults with severe and persistent mental illness (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, and personality disorders). We are seeking motivated clinicians to join our multidisciplinary clinical team as full-time staff. Requirement, Education, and Work Experience

Masters or Doctoral Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or a Doctoral Degree in Psychology required. Individuals who are currently licensed (or license-eligible within 3 months), and with at least one year of experience with clients with chronic and persistent mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia), are preferred. Applicants who are provisionally licensed or who are in a final training year (i.e., Postdoctoral Psychology Fellows, LMSWs, LGPCs) are welcome to apply as supervision and training are available. Psychologist applicants with assessment/testing experience with be prioritized. Experience with residential, inpatient hospital, or partial hospitalization/partial program also strongly preferred. Strong administrative and communication skills necessary.

Responsibilities of the Job

  • Provide individual psychotherapy for a caseload of 6-10 clients.
  • Coordinate additional interventions necessary for optimal individual recovery, including, for example, family psychoeducation or support meetings.
  • Follow best practices for clinical work. Advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy or Psychodynamic Psychotherapy preferred.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans for each resident in collaboration with other members of the clinical team.
  • Facilitate 1-3 psychotherapy groups, with flexibility for content and frequency.
  • Stabilize symptomatic residents and provide as-needed case management for coordination of care and smooth transition to alternative programming and hospitalization.
  • Promote a balance for residents by shifting the focus from crisis stabilization to recovery and solution-focused coping skills, identity integration, and stable behavioral change.
  • Establish and maintain clinical records (electronic and hardcopy) adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Professional development projects encouraged. Supervision of interns/externs may be available with appropriate credentials.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments (psychologists only).
