Description: Ferguson Medical Group is designated as a Rural Heath Clinic and is approved with NHSC for loan repayment. We are looking to staff a post-doc (with possible employment after) in our Sikeston location and perhaps placement in one of our satellite offices in New Madrid, Cape Girardeau, East Prairie, or Kennett, MO. Our location in Cape Girardeau is an OB/GYN clinic and there is an opportunity to be staffed there as well to work specifically in the women’s clinic.

Ferguson Medical Group is the only multi-specialty Group (approximately 40-50 providers) between Memphis and St. Louis offering complete laboratory and radiology facilities, pulmonary function laboratory, and a pharmacy within the building. We have sub-specialties in pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, nephrology, podiatry, general surgery, ophthalmology, OB/GYN, cardiology, and neurology. We also provide urgent care services.

Our behavioral health department staffs three psychologists. We provide traditional mental health services to the clinic/community but we also provide integrated behavioral health to the clinic. This position would provide the post-doc with the following clinical experiences: traditional psychotherapy, pre-employment psychological assessments for the local police department, pre-surgical bariatric assessments, family/marital therapy, and psychological assessments (i.e. personality & diagnostic, intellectual functioning & learning disabilities, vocational/career). We provide these services to children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults.

Concerning our integrated care work, the post doc would be actively involved in the BH components of our patient health home, conduct warm hand-offs for behavioral health consults in the primary care clinic, provide consultation with the medical staff/nursing, and be a member of the integrated health care team.
