The Psychology Department at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) will be offering a post-doctoral fellowship beginning in September of 2019. This position is ideal for individuals seeking further inpatient experience, older adult experience, forensic experience, and experience with individuals with severe mental illness. The basic duties will include: individual and group psychotherapy, initial evaluations, behavior planning, neurocognitive evaluations and some forensic assessments (e.g., capacity and risk evaluations). This position is well suited for individuals who wish to pursue post-doctoral training and require additional supervision for licensure. We currently have four fully licensed psychologists on staff as well as one pre-doctoral intern. Previous experience working with older adults or severe mental illness is preferred but not required. A doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited university or school of psychology is required before beginning the fellowship.
