Measuring Quality of Care and Outcomes (3 CE’s)

Course Description and Target Audience
The course will discuss the differences between Quality of Care and Outcome and discuss how these two concepts relate to one another. This course will also discuss the current political climate related to these issues.
The target audience is mental health providers (advanced doctoral level psychology trainees, psychologists in practice, master’s level clinicians, etc).
There are no known risks associated with this presentation.
- Participants will be able to compare the difference between outcomes and quality of care (QOC).
- Participants will be able to analyze current trends related to tracking the quality of care.
- Participants will be able to analyze and understand the current climate of the importance of QOC/Outcome tracking.
- Participants will be able to asses different QOC/Outcome measures and standards
Thomas Janousek, Psy.D., is a staff psychologist at Acumen Assessments. He has specialty training in comprehensive psychological and cognitive testing; violence risk assessment; evaluating relational/interpersonal functioning, and conducting assessments aimed at identifying personality factors that impede individual performance. Dr. Janousek is a graduate of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri where he completed his Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. He completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship specializing in the clinical assessment and treatment of high-risk populations and completing forensic evaluations for the Missouri Department of Family Services. Dr. Janousek has worked in a Medicaid system which has been dependent on the quality of care and he has developed instruments for tracking outcome data.
