Evaluation and Treatment of Physicians and Professionals (3 CE’s)

Course Description and Target Audience
The course will consist of learning about the unique aspects of working with physicians and other professionals. Aggregate testing data collected from our institution will be presented and we will also discuss the current treatment climate for physicians and other professionals. There are no known risks associated with this course.
The target audience is mental health providers (advanced doctoral level psychology trainees, psychologists in practice, master’s level clinicians etc).
- Explain the unique intricacies associated with the physician population.
- Describe the process of a multidisciplinary assessment and its usefulness in the field.
- Discuss data associated with a sample of treated physicians.
- Assess treatment options available for physicians and other professionals.
Thomas Janousek, Psy.D., is a staff psychologist at Acumen Assessments, specializing in the clinical and forensic evaluation of licensed professionals. He has specialty training in comprehensive psychological and cognitive testing; violence risk assessment; evaluating relational/interpersonal functioning; and conducting assessments aimed at identifying personality factors that impede individual performance. Dr. Janousek is a graduate of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri where he completed his Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. He completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship specializing in the clinical assessment and treatment of high-risk populations and completing forensic evaluations for the Missouri Department of Family Services.
