Train tomorrow’s psychologists with NPTC!
NPTC is looking to add new didactic presenters! Our goal is to diversify our presenter database and expand our list of topics offered throughout the internship year.
What makes me eligible to present?
A person is eligible to present for NPTC as long as they have the experience, skills, and training to be considered competent and an expert in their respective area. This includes presenters from other disciplines like LCSWs, DSWs, MAs, MSs, and LPCs.
What is the time commitment for becoming a presenter?
Our didactics are generally in 4 hour or 3.5 hours time blocks in the morning or afternoon. NPTC asks that the interns receive a 5-10 minute break once an hour. These presentations can be virtual or in-person depending on presenter preference.
Do I get paid?
Yes! NPTC offers a standard compensation rate of $130 in prep time and $100 per hour, for a total of $530 for a 4-hour presentation. For a 3.5 hour presentation, the standard compensation amount is $480. If your employer requires a specific rate, please reach out to us for further details.
What topics is NPTC looking for presenters for?

What is the Presentation format?
The training schedule includes in-person and virtual didactics. Presenters’ preferences and topic areas may determine the date of presentation and virtual or in-person format. NPTC asks that the interns receive a 5-10 minute break once an hour. Our expectation is that didactics should include presentation of the material along with interactive opportunities for interns to engage. The engagement portion can be approached several ways, like group breakout rooms, practicing integrations, games, wordplay, in-depth discussion, case studies, etc.
Am I on my own on presentation day?
An NPTC team member always attends training to provide support, structure, and guidance to presenters and interns. Our team is available during the presentation and as you prepare your materials to ensure the topic and presentation materials comply with the necessary guidelines. NPTC also has resources for presenters that assist with preparation and delivery.
How many participants attend a training?
NPTC has a different number of interns in each of our regions. Depending on presenter availabilty, topic, and preference, the participant group size can range from 3-60 interns. Our Cascades region (in Washington) primarily provides in-person training experiences to groups of 10-15. Some of our virtual didactics combine our Central, Cy-Hawk, and Great Lakes regions together and have anywhere from 50-60 participants. Our newest region, the Pacific Region, will have some virtual presentations with an intimate intern cohort of three for our first year.
