Internship training is carried out in a variety of affiliated member training sites.

Currently, there are six member sites in the Central Region. Many of the sites within the consortium employ more than one doctoral-level licensed psychologist, ensuring opportunities for primary supervision by two on-site doctoral-level licensed psychologists. In instances where there is only one psychologist on-site, NPTC works with the training site to coordinate additional primary supervision for the intern.

The Central Region of NPTC is composed of member sites across Central and South West Missouri. The NPTC Executive Training Office is located in Springfield, MO, which is also where the intern monthly didactic trainings are held. Due to location, monthly didactics will require travel on the interns part depending on site location.

For more information about each of these locations, please see their individual pages.

Springfield, the state’s third largest city and the location of the NPTC main office, maintains a talented arts community dating back to the early 1900s, offering a symphony, a community theatre, an art museum, a ballet company and a regional opera. Springfield is also home to the recently opened Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium which is the largest and most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world. Next door to it is the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, a popular attraction in the state of Missouri for fisherman and hunters alike.

Many of our sites are within a half-day’s driving distance to other exciting cities such as St. Louis, Kansas City, Jefferson City, Branson, and Tulsa, OK.
