Are you ready for match?
It’s almost time for the APPIC Match to begin! Are you ready for this next big step in your career? We’re here to help you try to make your internship year your best year yet! It is important to find a training program that not only gives you the experience you need to grow into the professional you want to be, but also is invested in you beyond your internship year. As an intern with NPTC we are committed to helping you through each step of your professional process including helping you all the way through to licensure and beyond.
As we begin this match process, there are multiple opportunities for you to learn more about all of our sites in each of our five regions across the United States. In case you missed our most recent exciting announcement, we can now say that we have FOUR APA Accredited regions, with the recent announcement from APA that our Cy-Hawk Region was granted Contingent Accreditation as of May 5, 2025!! We are so excited to now have our Cy-Hawk Region join Central, Great Lakes, and Cascades as an APA Accredited program. We also received news that our Pacific Region was approved for a site visit in the Spring/Summer 2026 review window.

Below we have some Frequently Asked Questions about our Virtual Open House event to review as we head into this season!
- What happens after I register? You will receive an email containing Zoom information for the meetings. You will use the same link for each meeting. Check your spam folder if you do not receive a confirmation email after a few minutes.
- What happens at the open house meetings? Each meeting begins with an introduction and overview of the region, and then each site training director or representative will spend a few minutes speaking about the opportunities available at their site. Time is reserved after these brief presentations for presubmitted or live questions from students.
- How long are the meetings? Each meeting will last about an hour.
- Does attending the meeting(s) guarantee me an interview? No, attending the meetings does not affect your application status to any of our programs.
- Is it okay for me to join later than the start time? You can join the meeting at any point and leave when you need to.
- How do I get a recording of the meeting? Use the link at the beginning of this email to register and you will receive a recorded version of the meeting whether you were able to attend live or not.
- Do I need to have my camera on during the meeting? All attendees are encouraged, but not required, to turn on their cameras. While attendance will not affect your application ranking to our program, it is a good practice to present yourself professionally at all times if you do choose to have your camera on.
- How can I submit a question? When you register for the meeting, there will be an option to submit a question at the bottom of the survey. If you are attending live, you may ask your question at any point through the chat or by unmuting your microphone.
- Is there an opportunity to follow up with a specific training director after the meeting? Yes! Most of our training directors choose to share their email addresses if you have additional questions. Alternatively, you can email applicant@psychologyinterns.org and the NPTC team can connect you to the right person to answer your question.
