Post Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology at Thomson Memory & Attention
(Multiple Positions Available)
Training Directors: Christina Blodgett Dycus, Ph.D. & Kathryn Wyman-Chick, Psy.D., ABPP
Program Overview:
Here at Thomson Memory & Attention, we offer professional training based on exposure to a wide variety of neuropsychological disorders in a private practice setting in the Chicagoland and Twin City suburbs. Our goal for this program is to provide fellows with a rigorous training program enriched by plenty of clinical cases, supervision, continuing education, and research opportunities to achieve a high level of clinical competence and unmistakable self-confidence to be a neuropsychologist.

Thomson Memory & Attention has had an established fellowship program for over 10 years in both the Chicagoland and Twin City areas. Our fellowship program offers clinical neuropsychological training with an option for secondary training in cognitive rehabilitation. We adhere to Houston Conference Guidelines and provide all the necessary levels of supervision and continuing education opportunities to our fellows.

We are seeking fellows with a substantial neuropsychology background. The position will be primarily focused on neuropsychological evaluations, and therefore, a strong background in administering and scoring neuropsychological assessment is preferred. An option for a secondary responsibility of cognitive rehabilitation may be available for the right candidate. The training experience will also include weekly individual supervision with your primary supervising neuropsychologist and regular didactics and research with a board-certified neuropsychologist on various related topics, journal club, and group supervision.

We are offering both lifespan fellowship programs and pediatric fellowship programs out of both our Illinois and Minnesota locations. Thomson has a high rate of post-doc retention as a career neuropsychologist following fellowship completion.

Application Process Timeline:
Here at Thomson, we have a rolling hiring and admission process for our post-doctoral positions. We suggest turning in application materials as early as possible considering the high volume of applicants we receive for our positions. Once application materials are received, interviews will be extended to qualified applicants. There is no set interview schedule or timeline. Our interviewing team will coordinate with each applicant on days and times that work best for the interviews.  After completing the interview process, program offers will be extended to qualified candidates. While there is no specific decision date, we do ask for offers to be decided upon in a timely manner.

After accepting the fellowship position offer, new fellows will work with their appointed supervisor on a program start date. Most fellows start somewhere between August and October, and that start date is influenced by the end of internship, the degree conferral process, and the schedule of their newly appointed supervisor. We also are flexible on start dates as they pertain to relocation to the Chicagoland or Twin City area, if necessary.
