Internship training is carried out in a variety of affiliated member training sites.
Currently, there are five member sites in the Central Region. The Central Region of NPTC is composed of member sites across Central and South West Missouri. The NPTC Executive Training Office is located in Springfield, MO, which is also where the annual supervisor orientation and training is hosted as well as in-person didactic trainings for interns. In-person didactics will be held on a quarterly basis and will require travel on the part of the interns depending on site placement.
For more information about each of these locations, please see the individual site pages in the navigation on the right.
For more general information about the overall internship program check out our FAQ section here.

Central Region Area Information
NPTC Central Region member sites are located throughout the heart of the Ozarks – the home of beautiful lakes, rolling hills and a leisurely lifestyle. The weather is moderate with four distinct seasons that encourage diverse outdoor recreation all year long. Across rural Missouri, the cost of living usually averages 8 to 10 percent below the national average (see: https://www.bestplaces.net/cost_of_living/state/missouri) . More information on the cost of living for sites in this area can be found in our F.A.Q. page under “What is the cost of living?” Go here to read more about the benefits of living in this area!
Springfield, the state’s third largest city and the location of the NPTC main office, maintains a talented arts community dating back to the early 1900s, offering a symphony, a community theatre, an art museum, a ballet company and a regional opera. Springfield is also home to the recently opened Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium which is the largest and most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world. Next door to it is the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, a popular attraction in the state of Missouri for fisherman and hunters alike.
Many of our sites are within a half-day’s driving distance to other exciting cities such as St. Louis, Kansas City, Jefferson City, Branson, and Tulsa, OK.
