The hours entered into the NPTC web portal serve as the official record of the intern’s training and experience during internship. Please note that the submission of timesheets via the NPTC portal is in addition to any local site timesheet and/or leave request process. Interns should report the same hours on the local timesheet and the NPTC timesheet.
The psychology intern documents their internship activities every month (30 days) starting from the first day of internship. The NPTC timesheet web portal requires the intern to record daily experiences in the appropriate category; for instance, intervention, assessment, didactic presentation, supervision, or various other training opportunities. Many of these categories are further subdivided to more clearly indicate the intern’s experiences. The portal captures the intern’s activities for each workday, including the total number of completed hours. The portal also contains reports both the intern and supervisors can use to review the total hours the intern worked for the specified month. Ideally, the Individual Learning and Training Plan, and the submitted timesheets, should illustrate progress toward obtaining all the training experiences needed for successful completion of the psychology internship. Documentation of the timesheets is to be submitted by the intern via the NPTC web portal at the end of each 30-day period. The timesheet submission deadline is 9:00 am local time the business day following the end of each period. The designated primary supervisor will then be notified to review and approve the submitted hours. If the timesheet is not turned in on time, it will be will be noted and continuing concerns may be passed along to the Regional Training Director as needed.
Occasionally, schools will require interns to track and submit their internship hours via Time2Track or another tracking program. If this is the case, please let Operations Support know as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to assist in the submission of the required data. Internship hours entered and submitted through another program and not through the NPTC web portal are not formal records of the internship experiences.
